The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is a 2012 fancy hazard pellicle directed by Peter Jackson. It is the first of a three-part pellicle fitness of the 1937 novel The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien, to be followed by The Devastation of Smaug and There and Back Again, due for scenic set at liberty in 2013 and 2014, respectively. The trilogy acts as prequels to Jackson's The Governor of the Rings pellicle trilogy.
